Sunbow Art Gallery is proud to present an exhibition of 3 renowned Chinese artists at Artspace Galleries
London and Paris. Featuring Caowei , Wei Chuyu , Wang Guanying, the group exhibition showcases
collections of 3 Chinese artists who observe the comprehensive process of reform China has gone through
since late 1970. TRANSVISION explores the ways of looking at Mao Zedong, the national hero and one of the
most influential leaders of China and the young generation after the reform and the surrounding culture.
This group exhibition will tour between London and Paris to meet with greater audience in the core cities of
the Western art.
Wei Chuyu’s paintings confirm strongly to the accepted tenets of socialist realism, principally through their
continued use of representational devices historically associated with Western academic realism.
Caowei’s The Youth/Jump series reveals the young generation of Chinese people. They bear the weight of
modern China. They are ambitious, passionate, optimistic, but yet not down to earth. They belong to this
modern time and age, but some day they will become a part of those buildings in these images.
Wang Guanying’s artwork consists of four pieces: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. 9th of September is
the Mao Zedong’s Memorial Day. The for paintings describe this particular day, mountains of people rush to
the Chairman Mao memorial hall, paying their respect to the former emperor of China.
