Tessa Pearson - Garden Dreams

An exhibition of new abstract contemporary monoprints and paintings.

Lovers of colour will delight in a new exhibition of paintings by renowned colourist Tessa Pear-

son, showing at the Fountain Gallery in April.

Currently finding inspiration from glorious gardens, this is Tessa’s latest series of large abstract

paintings and unique prints originating from this theme. Vibrant colours and textures create

striking bold images responding to the sensation of pattern and movement experienced in these

special places.

Tessa will be exhibiting mixed media paintings, and original oil on paper monotypes

created with collagraphs and woodblocks. Oil based etching inks are rolled thinly onto acetate

sheets, and the image is created by wiping, brushing and drawing into the inks before paper is

laid gently over and the plate is passed through a press. Many layers are slowly built up, result-

ing in rich luminous colour and texture. Tessa often completes a print by adding a final layer of

thick unguous ink, producing an excitingly tactile surface quality.

Tessa exhibits regularly in galleries and art fairs around London and the UK in solo and group

shows. She is an active member of the Richmond Printmakers, Ochre Print Studios in Guildford

and is currently chairman of the Fountain Gallery artists.

The Fountain Gallery is located just across the bridge from Hampton Court Palace in a delightful

street famous for its café restaurants, antique shops and boutiques.

The exhibition is open Tuesday- Sunday 11am -5.30pm (closed Mondays)
