Exhibitors confirmed for 2012 Aberdeen Art Fair
Over 40 exhibitors representing hundreds of artists from across the UK have been confirmed to
exhibit at this year’s Aberdeen Art Fair, an event that will bring together some of the best names in
modern artistry to celebrate the diversity of European art.
The event, sponsored by global energy company TAQA, takes place at the Music Hall from 18th –
19th August and will include works from a large selection of galleries from across the country
including The Hillier Gallery from Stratford Upon Avon and Castle Galleries in Glasgow.
Visitors will have the opportunity to view internationally acclaimed artworks never before seen on
these shores. Renowned painter Henri Lorenzi, from Monaco, will be returning to the Granite City to
showcase his latest work over the two day event.
New exhibitors include Aberdeen based Gallery 121, which will represent a number of well known
artists, including the official 2012 Olympic artist Fabian Perez. Perez’s powerful and virtuosic oil
paintings have won him international acclaim and worldwide success, establishing him as one of the
most exciting figurative artist on the contemporary scene.
Based in Aberdeen’s twin city of Clermont-Ferrand, Jill Bonnaud will also make her Scottish debut
when she showcases her latest works at the second annual event.
With over 2,000 visitors attending last year’s fair, along with the sale of thousands of pounds worth
of art, the Aberdeen Art Fair has cemented its position in Scotland’s vibrant arts scene and offers a
glimpse into today’s fascinating world of art.
Gerry Muldoon of GM Events, said: “We are delighted to confirm the exhibitors for the 2012
Aberdeen Art Fair. We have received an overwhelming interest from artists and galleries across the
country as well as from across the pond. The event provides a platform in the north east of Scotland
for the showcasing of fresh, innovative and original artworks from some of the finest artists around
today. It will be a spectacle and celebration of all the great art produced not only in Scotland or the
UK but from throughout the world at this international event.”
For art lovers, collectors and first time buyers, the Aberdeen Art Fair offers an extensive collection of
affordable art works, ranging from as little as £50 to £10,000.
In addition to the fair, I Heart Art Studio will be running a free art club for 5 to 10 year olds over the
two days which will undoubtedly inspire the younger members of the audience to get involved. The
Music Hall café bar will be open to visitors to provide a quiet place to enjoy a coffee or have a
relaxing bite to eat between browsing.
Entry to the Aberdeen Art Fair will cost just £3 for a full day with free entry for accompanied children
(Under 15). The fair will be open from 9am to 5pm on Saturday 18th August and from 9.30am to 5pm
