THE SWA A THOROUGHLY MODERN OUTLOOK

The future as well as the past has always played an important part in our lives and after celebrating

150 years of Exhibitions the Society of Women Artists looks forward to embracing with renewed

vigour the 21st century and all that it may offer.

Our artists are an eclectic mix of traditional and modern; unafraid of experimentation,

constantly pushing out the boundaries whilst producing work that is both substantial and exciting.

Our painters, sculptors, printers and ceramicists all have something to say about modern life. The

environment as well as the human spirit feature heavily in the beautiful work you will be able to see at

the Mall Galleries, London. Refurbished to provide a ‘state of the art’ platform for the visual arts and

close to Trafalgar Square this latest development will rival any gallery and we are very proud to be

able to showcase our work there.

YOUNG ARTISTS

The Society of Women Artists actively encourages young artists: we offer a special rate for their

submissions and provide ‘Young Artist’ Awards. There is a wealth of talent out there which we are

making every effort to promote.

CHARITIES

We endeavour to support the underprivileged and vulnerable members of society through our chosen

charities who have held special gala evenings during our Exhibitions. Create and the Lady Taverners

have hosted exciting auctions of members artwork and together with generous prizes this has enabled

us to make regular donations to some very worthy causes.

In 2012 The Create Charity will be holding another of their special events when Colin Sheaf, the

Director of Bonhams will act as auctioneer.

SPONSORSHIP

The SWA is always looking for opportunities to collaborate with individuals or organisations

whether it be for an Award, Donation or Sponsorship - we need to nurture and encourage our many

talented artists, young and old, thus helping preserve the integrity and wellbeing of the visual arts for

our future generations.

HRH Princess Michael of Kent will be opening the Exhibition and Presenting the prizes.

The 2012 Exhibition will run from Thursday 28 June – Saturday 7th July.

Our Private view will be on Wednesday 27th June 10am – 8pm

Demonstrations by our artists have been arranged to take place during the Exhibition.
