NEWS RELEASE
Wylye Valley Art Trail 2013 : Saturday 25 May - Sunday 2 June
The Wylye Valley Art Trail is a vibrant festival of visual arts and craft, following a meandering
trail through some of the South West's most beautiful landscapes. It takes place for 9 days in
early summer, from Saturday 25 May to Sunday 2 June.
Over 280 artists and craftspeople are opening the doors of their studios and workshops to
visitors. Or they’re showing their work in galleries and exciting group exhibitions. They all
either live, work or have a strong connection with this area. There’s a wide range of high-
quality art and craft to see: painting, sculpture, print- making, furniture making, jewellery,
installation, digital art, ceramics, photography, wood, glass, textiles and more!
There are nearly 90 venues in a 10- mile radius from the centre of the Wylye Valley, South
Wiltshire. Discover art everywhere, from churches, old petrol stations and cafes to walled
gardens, old milking parlours and watermills. And you don't have to go far between venues!
The Wylye Valley Art Trail winds its way over chalk downland, down narrow farm tracks,
alongside clear chalk streams and through historic market towns and villages, including
Hindon, Mere, East Knoyle, Tisbury, Westbury and Warminster.
Founded in 2001, this is the seventh Wylye Valley Art Trail. It is now the largest and most
diverse visual arts festival in Wiltshire, with nationally known and award- winning artists /
makers, totally free admission to all venues, and artistic activities for families and children.
You can view the whole event on www.wvat.co.uk from the end of February, and go to the
Wylye Valley Art Trail facebook page for updates and loads more images.
