Twentieth Century Welsh Portraiture

This exhibition showcases a stunning collection of works that explore the theme of
Welsh Portraiture during the 20th Century.
Over 30 paintings from the collections of Oriel Ynys Môn, The National Library of
Wales and from private individuals will be featured. From informal studies to
significant paintings of famous faces and local characters, the works reveal a variety
of styles and different approaches to the painted portrait. It offers the viewer an
opportunity to see the development and changing trends in capturing character and
likeness from the early to the later part of the 20th Century.
Anthony Hopkins, Griff Rhys Jones, Dafydd Iwan and Jan Morris are just a few of
the famous Welsh people on show, painted by equally famous artists such as David
Griffith, Kyffin Williams, Peter Prendergast and Claudia Williams.
Oriel Ynys Môn is open daily from 10.30am to 5.00pm.
