■ ARK is a world-class contemporary sculpture exhibition which will take place at

Chester Cathedral between 7 July – 15 October 2017.

■ Gallery Pangolin is delighted to have been invited to curate this major sculpture

exhibition for Chester Cathedral.

■ The largest modern sculpture exhibition to be held in the north-west of England, it

will feature 90 works by over 50 internationally renowned sculptors including Kenneth

Armitage, Lynn Chadwick, Geoffrey Clarke, Elisabeth Frink, Antony Gormley, Damien

Hirst, Barbara Hepworth, Michael Joo, Sarah Lucas, David Mach, David Nash and

Peter Randall-Page.

■ This exhibition will use the magnificent interior of the cathedral as a backdrop to

extraordinary works of art as well as the beautiful and ancient spaces surrounding

it. Several sculptors will be showing brand new works of art whilst some pieces will

emerge for public view from private collections. It will be the first time these pieces

have been seen together.

■ ‘Art is not only about beauty and sensuality, it can also be honest and outspoken.

In placing these contemporary sculptures within the rich environment of Chester

Cathedral we hope to delight, amaze, confound and challenge our audience.’
