1st UK exhibition by French - Burkinabe artist Mouss.

54 The Gallery,

The first UK exhibition by French - Burkinabe artist Mouss,

presenting 30 works imbued with the essence of places,

moments, and memories, and the trace they leave in the soul.

Born into a family tradition of dyers, Mouss is entirely self -

taught and is constantly experimenting to develop new

techniques.

He paints with both his left and right hand, at times holding

several paint brushes simultaneously. …

He prepares his own paints with natural pigments and plants

mixed with oil, and also works with acrylics, and liquid wax

followed by dye baths. Some works are mixed medium.

‘sculpting matter’

With his innate love for color and matter, Mouss likens the

art of painting to sculpture, when working to create depth,

movement and balance
