A unique collection of oil paintings by Howard Butterworth of Royal Deeside goes on show at The Marcliffe Hotel, Aberdeen Sunday 12th November 2006. The exhibition captures the atmospheric light and colours throughout a year on the River Dee, one of the most beautiful and famous rivers in Scotland. Howard Butterworth has lived and worked for 30 years from his family home in Glenmuick, Royal Deeside, where the late Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, an enthusiastic supporter and patron, often visited. The exhibition continues until Tuesday evening culminating in a gala dinner and auction to raise funds for the River Dee Trust Charity in order to promote the conservation of an area of outstanding natural beauty. |
