Through late summer and the onset of autumn 2007, northern artist Cliff Blakey recorded
his experiences in the landscape of the North and South Tyne Valleys and the rugged landscape of Hadrian's Wall. The result is an exciting series of new paintings exclusively for Off the Wall Gallery entitled 'Northlands'.
Cliff's expressive, romantic interpretations of the northern landscape stem from his passion for his Northumberland homeland and his obsession with light and colour. Scratching, dripping, splattering paint to find new ways of describing the world around him, Cliff's paintings celebrate the joy he finds in this ever changing landscape.
