After fifteen years of working before nature, in this collection Richard Hoare ventures deeper into the subtleties of Light. His subject matter has not changed: trees, water, solitary mountains and the chipped cup. Light is still, as it always was, at the heart of his work. Traditional in method, his pieces offer an increasingly determined vision that strikes into the Essence of the moment in front of the artist. Symphonies of Light that are played out in the landscape and around the humble still life, recorded by his hand in reflections of passing seasons, weather and the feeling of each hour . One is left with a sense of moments seized without compromise – where the ordinary does not exist; it is just the extraordinary we have not noticed.
