Sculpture by T A R R A N T S T M A L T R A V R O N D O N R D I G H R I V E R S h l ARUNDEL thumbnail Scott's British Polar Expedition of 1910-14 must be one of the best photo-documented exploration failures in history, the remarkable survival of a large body of powerfully evocative photographs taken by Herbert Ponting and, during the final push, by other expedition members, the tragic Captain Oates in particular, being something of a story in itself. As this Royal Geographical Society show at Guildford House so poignantly reveals, images of the most intense human comradeship are seen played out against an icy landscape of the most astounding natural beauty.
