Quite why this should have been so is not clear when you encounter the vibrantly layered and coloured surfaces that mix paint with a wide variety of unorthodox materials – heavy wire, cardboard tubing,a length of chord – of these handsome and substantial pieces,some shown in the UK for the first time.
