THUMB nails Conceptual artist, collector, exhibition co-ordinator, and one- time gallery owner, Mali is one of the more intriguing andleft-field players on the Anglo-Indian art scene in this country, as his latest show ( Colomb ) makes plain. Born, brought up and trainedin Mumbai, Mali worked for 5 years in the city in the influential cross-cultural Bhulabhai Memorial Institute, before coming to the UK in 1962 – some 26 solo and125 group shows have followed. This latest exhibition, 'Mali’s Books 1990- 2010', is evidence that his wry, acerbic 'take' on contemporary values remains as sharp as ever.
