Regular readers will be sorry to learn that after 25 years (and virtually as many in these pages) the Boundary Gallery will be closing at the end of September on the termination of their lease. Happily, dynamic founder Agi Katz, who has overcome all the vicissitudes in over three decades (including a dramatic builder-induced flood causing temporary exile to alternative premises) has announced that “we shall continue with increased activities online and exhibiting at art fairs.” Meanwhile, you have until 27 August to catch Part II of the Anniversary Show with works at discounted prices . . . A new permanent gallery to highlight the Victoria and Albert Museum’s outstanding photographic holdings is set to open at the end of October. It will tell the story of photography from its inception until the 1960s. Highlights will include a daguerreotype of Parliament Street in 1839, Robert Howlett’s Brunel in front of The Great Eastern ‘s launching chains (1857) and a camera-less dragonfly by Curtis Moffat from c.1925.
