The warm reception it received from collectors appears to have encouraged his painting too and, despite a serious illness since, it really does seem in full flow again, the new work exploring the memories and dreams that have occupied him since he recovered. Lyrical, witty and intensely personal, they represent a marvellous, and somehow very moving, late flowering. NU THUMB nails Robin Rae ‘Wiltshire White Horse’ 1947
