GALLERIES APRIL 12 The main event this month at Blenheim Palace is the Cotswold Art and Antique Dealers' Fair (20 to 22 April) with complimentary tickets available from their website. The majority of the 37 members will be taking part including Architectural Heritage. Up in Shipston on Stour the Stour Gallery is showing the clean, sparse workof Jessica Cooper RWA alongside three potters from Denmark, a country with an enviable history of producing and attracting world- class ceramicists. Cooper has described her artistic quest as “Continually exploring, dissecting and diluting everything that is going on around me, seeking to find simplicity in the chaos of everyday life.” In contrast, over at the Campden Gallery in Chipping Campden, the artist Lewis Noble's process is cumulative rather than reductive: “I like to think that the painting contains all the time that was spent making it . . . as much a part of the painting as the finished image.” Spring is a collection of workinspired by the continued on page 24
