With the G20 demonstrations, the Royal Wedding and the Anti-Cuts Demo, 2011 was a remarkably rich year for exploring her ongoing fascination with the power of mass movement. In their fusion of abstract and figurative elements and a subtly coloured palette, the resulting paintings present a powerful evocation of the huge energies of the contemporary city. NU THUMB nails
