Lynn Chadwick's unconventional backgound as pilot and architect led him towards making both mobiles and also figures of an unmistakeable weightlessness – as Julian Spalding puts it in his catalogue essay for this show of Chadwick's work from the years 1955-96 at Beaux Arts (map 28), his “art, literally, came out of the air.” NU THUMB nails
