Public Galleries holiday shows Pop Art Design at the Barbican until February is billed as a comprehensive show to examine the interaction of artists and designers in the age of Pop, withmore than 200 works (bothcelebrated and lesser known) by 70 practitioners. The Victoria & Albert Museum's fare includes 'Club to Catwalk: London Fashion in the 1980s' – Hamnett, Dagworthy, Galliano – 'Pearls' and 'Masterpieces of Chinese Painting 700-1900', all of which continue well into the New Year. 'Facing the Modern: The Portrait in Vienna 1900' at the National Gallery until January 12thprovides a snapshot of the Austrian capital at the turn of the century – the city of Freud, Mahler and artistic stars Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka.
