Galleries - May 2013

With its older ‘brother’ the 20/21 Art Fair dedicated to Modern and Contemporary British, the 20/21 International Art Fair was founded some 5 years ago to reflect the increasingly cosmopolitan flavour of the London art scene. With 60 galleries and dealers, mostly based in the UK but specialising in work from Japan, Russia, Poland, France, Morocco, Serbia and the Ukraine as well as American and British art, showing in the Royal College of Art space, the fair has proved a remarkably shrewd initiative. The quality is high too, with everyone from Braque, Chagall and Matisse to Hockney, Hirst and Grayson Perry to be found alongside new and upcoming young artists – while the special, added attraction is a display from the RCA’s Printmaking Department. 11 9 7 3
