In that, it very much reflects Read’s own personal curatorial taste and to celebrate the tenth anniversary of her inaugural exhibition, she has turned to the Glasgow-based and trained painter Ronald F. Smith. His sumptuous, warm colours, while very much reflecting his Scottish Colourist-influenced background, also have a delicacy and subtlety of tone and mark that is intensely personal, as is the quiet formal simplifications of his compositional structures.
