All of which makes this exemplary show there of the great Italian master of the genre, Alberto Biasi, a rare and welcome event. Emerging out of Padua’s experimentalist Gruppo N, Biasi evolved an astonishingly dynamic and involving style via remarkably simple techniques – layerings of PVC tape over painted wooden bases – that demand active engagement from the viewer. Elegant, but also intensely physical and involving. NU Alberto Biasi ‘Variable round image’
