Open 12–5 Sat/Sun, appointments welcome at any other time t 01620 895057 info@fidrafineart.co.uk www.fidrafineart.co.uk Stuart Morris ‘Circles of Being 2’ Though based in Suffolk, painter, printmaker and environmental artist Stuart Morris’s approach to his art really has very little to do with that landscape, other than as an occasional backdrop for his wide range of vividly coloured natural and sculptural forms – totem poles, stones, rocks and trees – which, in turn, form the subject matter of the photo pieces that he makes from these otherwise ephemeral objects. Other landscapes, notably the wild and barren beaches of Barra in the Outer Hebrides and the remoter Greek Islands serve the same purpose, Morris’s search always for a means of going beyond the conventional notions of landscape. Whether it is in his totem poles, photo-works or paintings it makes his show at La Galleria this month a rich and vivid experience. NU THUMB nails
