Weathering, surface and atmosphere – how the elements visually impact on the environment, are a source of inspiration. Time is also spent drawing and observing plant forms in the Botanic Garden and an interpretation of these often find their way into her art. Working intuitively she applies and removes layers of paint until satisfied. Doerr has exhibited widely across Scotland including at Open Eye Gallery ; in London her work hung in this year’s Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and this month she is featured in the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition at Mall Galleries .
