This provided the invaluable opportunity for the study of drawing from life, arguably the most testing exercise and practice of emotionally bringing the hand and eye together in rendering the planes, facets and character of the human form. Likened to practising musical scales, the life class can also result in symphonies and scherzos on paper and canvas. The society still flourishes with weekly meetings at the M all Galleries with three models and room for professionals and learners to practise.
