There seems to be no subject or technique Leonard can't or won’t undertake – nudes male and female, still life, architecture, genre scenes and portraits among them – but all painted and drawn with a marvellous sense of passion and engagement. And fun too, as in his witty pastiches on Old Master portrait drawings – Sir Peter Blake à la Holbein (perfect!) or Brian Sewell, more unexpectedly, as a severe 18th century David.
