Jazz Finds Eclectic exhibition responding to a musical beat! August 8 th – September 22 nd Jazz Finds is the second exhibition curated by the newly opened, contemporary art gallery, Found in the centre of Brecon, mid Wales. Jazz Finds coincides with the well-established Brecon Jazz Festival which has brought hundreds of talented jazz musicians to Brecon for 36 years. The exhibition features the jazz paintings of John Clare, founder of the jazz and black music shop ‘Honest Jon’s Records.’ Having put on live performances in the 80’s at the 100 Club in London’s Oxford Street with many American legends John’s paintings convey the essential feeling - emotional and atmospheric, of jazz. The exhibition also features some never seen jazz photographs by the very well-known photographer John Bulmer; as well as black and white photography by Max Farrar captured at Leeds Jazz during the 1980s. As part of their mission to support emerging artists and makers Found will be exhibiting 3 beautiful Aeolin Harps crafted by Hereford College blacksmith graduate, Frederick Andrews. The other contributors, ceramicist Liz Lawrence, potter Ian Rylatt, wire work artist Nina Lazarou and metal sculptor Alan Ross all contribute to the musical theme.
